Guess who’s back, back again – jojo’s back, tell a friend!
And with a fully restocked beauty bag to bring to you the latest and greatest products out there.
Up first on this fine Monday is an offering from Benefit. As has been documented before, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Benefit products for a number of reasons:
- Love – they give me brows on fleek
- Hate – the highly touted They’re Real! Mascara that I have never drank the kool-aid on
- Hurtful – they discontinued my peachy favorite blush/powder
That being said, I will always try new products and this one has been highly touted as one of the best mascaras out there. They even go so far as to say that you can put your eyelash curler away and only use this product. So let’s get to testing those bold claims…
It’s all about that brush, brush, no curler here. This product comes in a pretty little package reminiscent of your nana’s hair curlers but the vintage look ends there. The brush is quite advanced, with a curved and straight side, patented as a Hook n’ Roll. As far as application goes, gently start at the lash line and do just like they instruct: hook and roll. Wiggle that brush a bit as you go and apply a few layers and viola! wider, curled lashes are all yours.
It’s not exactly a standalone product. While it goes far in curling and lengthening your lashes, it doesn’t do much for the thickness. Once you apply Roller Lash, you need to coat your lashes with your mascara of choice to really amplify your look. I’ve coupled it with a drugstore mascara (that will be reviewed next Monday!) and found it creates a beautiful finish.
All of that being said, Benefit continues to suck me in and I do highly recommend this product, if only for the fact that it reduces the likelihood of ripping your lashes out via eyelash curler slips.
